Be a giant

We seldom see individual rise over the society and enter in the league of giants. Most of us try it but surrender once ridiculed by society during our initial act of emulation. We aim to become someone whom we admire and in the process start copying his ideologies, curbing our natural instinct and giving society a glimpse of well known giant in us. Their inability to appreciate the act normally ends in act of jibing. Most of us prefer not to march ahead and join them instead and enact the same prank on others. Those who fight their way reach the pinnacle and get all the adulation they deserve from the society who once demeaned him.

Even with such adversity, world has seen many giants. We all are born with same degree of intellect (going by the law of averages). We learn from our surroundings. We have an inborn talent of copying which we have inherited from our ancestors. We prefer to call it “emulating” than “copying”. Instead of debating I will let you decide. My only intention is to make you copy some of the characteristics of giants the world has ever produced.

We all need idols or the face which we want to become. Our inability to appreciate may counter this logic. Why should I try to become someone? But we still need it to give a physical meaning to our goal or aim in life. We cannot be unique because of biological limitations. Diversity prevails on mother earth, yet we all have limited and similar potential. We need to realize that potential and rise over others. You all can choose to know your dear ones and get known by them or try emulation and known to those whom you may not know. Either you become an idol or keep worshipping the one the society does. Even with the limited potentials we have seen people performing the act which are socially considered too difficult or impossible. Stephen Hawkins with A.L.S. and complete paralysis has managed to contribute in quantum physics and understanding the universe more than anyone in last few decades. Hillary and Norway setting foot on Mt. Everest inspiring generations of mountaineers. Gandhi inspired a nation with his non violent act and started a legacy of non-violent movements to get heard. We don’t even have to look beyond the close compound of our homes or offices. If we look closely we’ll see numerous individuals trying to emulate a giant and inspiring others.

Why inspire others?

We would have never known that earth’s not the centre of universe if Galileo hasn’t observed the night sky with his invention – telescope. He faced stiff challenges from religious fanatics but now society has accepted his observation. We accept what we see, hear or feel. We never ask why? When Copernicus said that earth’s the centre based of assumption that moon rotates around us and sun appears to do so. We agreed to him since we don’t actually want to question anybody due to freight of being subjected to answering the next. It’s easy being a follower than a leader. Society has made us dependent and we the very thought of being ostracized hurts us. When you inspire others you actually make a point and spread it expecting that to become a rage. If it does it makes you and your disciple rise in the social ladder. We always look for social acceptance in our idea, but real treasure is beyond society and is unearthed by those who think ahead. It’s good to inspire others with the thoughts or teaching of an idol and it’s better to inspire with your act. You realizing your potential and reaching the epitome of success itself inspires people around you.
